As written expression is spoken, taboos are broken
WIththe mere usage of metaphor and rhyme
Syncopated in time with beating of my heart
I am a poet.

I am a lover of words, once heard
Flow from my tongue to your ears
Causing laughter, outrage, and cheers
I am a stirrer of emotions
I am a poet.

I wear my heart on my tongue
As told to my paper by my pen
And not sharing would be the ultimate sin
For I am a poet.

And my words reflect the feelings you never knew you had
My thoughts reflect the dots, stripes, and plaids buried within your mind
And it only took one line to make you realize...
That poetry is life is poetic and I
